A PRODUCTION UNIT WITH AN EMBOSSING ROLLER FOR SHR™ PHOTOS
The Podmaster-IDH 54 Dual from GMP is a thermal laminating system designed specifically to process production volumes of digital photos with silver halide replacement (SHR™). With its built-in embossing roller, this unit is able to give digital photographs a lustre that emulates the look, weight, and feel of conventional silver halide prints. To support efficiency and maximise productivity, this laminator features a deep-pile top feed head that accepts large stacks of sheets and processes each one automatically so operators can focus on other tasks as needed.
The Podmaster IDH Dual includes capacitive touchscreen controls with a digital monitor that shows operators the unit’s current status and settings. This laminator utilises bursting separation, making it most compatible with polypropylene (OPP) laminates, and has a built-in Sleeking module for on-demand digital foiling embellishments. Its induction heating (IDH) roller heats up quickly and cools down with high efficiency.
The Podmaster-IDH 54 Dual can process sheets from 100 to 350 micron thick with a paper weight range of 120 to 350 g/m2.
Nobelus offers DuraTrim Trimmer/Sheeter units for applications that are not compatible with bursting separation.
As is the case for most thermal laminators, embossed print jobs must be run more slowly than gloss jobs on the Podmaster-IDH 54 Dual.
