The GMP Podmaster-IDH 54 Quatro is a thermal laminating system designed for medium- to high-volume digital photo production through silver halide replacement (SHR™). This laminator includes an embossing roller that replicates the look and feel of silver halide photos on digital photos. It can laminate both the front and back of sheets in a single pass to protect photographs and create speciality photo paper in-house. This unit provides operators with complete access to film rolls to facilitate loading and unloading.
The Podmaster-IDH 54 Quatro has a deep-pile feeder that accepts large stacks of sheets for automated lamination, and its touchscreen controls provide a user-friendly interface so operators can easily see the unit’s current settings and status. The included induction heating (IDH) roller heats up quickly and cools down with high efficiency. This system utilises bursting separation, making it most compatible with polypropylene (OPP) laminates.
Operators must manually load a new laminate roll onto the film mandrel between runs to change the finish from gloss to matt. Embossing can be activated without changing film rolls.
