A THERMAL LAMINATOR DESIGNED FOR HIGH-VOLUME DIGITAL PHOTOS

The GMP Lamimaster 34 HSIN is a roll-to-roll thermal laminating system designed to laminate high volumes of digital photos through silver halide replacement (SHR™). Its embossing roller gives digital photos a lustre that replicates the look and feel of silver halide photos without using harmful chemicals or expensive photo paper. To accommodate both gloss and lustre photos, the embossing roller can be engaged or disengaged as needed. This unit can be used off-line for the output of two presses or be installed in-line with a web-fed HP® Indigo press.

The Lamimaster 34 HSIN includes a rewinder unit, and operators can choose to combine the system with an unwinder to further streamline lamination. The included de-curling device helps ensure photos lie flat after they are laminated and cut, and each side of the unit’s nip rollers can be manually adjusted to keep film from developing wrinkles. To protect operators from injury, this fully enclosed unit includes several safety stops and automatically pauses lamination when its doors are opened. The system accepts web up to 340 mm wide and is ideal for producing digitally printed portrait photos, photo books and albums, calendars, cards, and more. Its high-speed induction (HSIN) heating roller ensures the laminator is ready to operate within 10 minutes after startup.

FAQs

What is the best way to minimise white space when using the embossing roller?

We recommend that operators run all emboss jobs first and batch gloss jobs at the end of the roll. This method minimises white space and reduces material waste. It also increases efficiency as the embossing roller on the Lamimaster 34 HSIN is activated manually.

Can outside climate contribute to issues with silvering, emboss levels, etc.?

Yes. Outside climate, inside climate, and the temperature of the rollers and chiller can all impact lamination quality on the Lamimaster 34 HSIN. The moisture content of paper before and after printing can also affect lamination.

What slitting options are available for the Lamimaster 34 HSIN?

Nobelus currently does not offer an in-line slitting solution for the Lamimaster 34 HSIN roll-to-roll laminator. However, the GMP Photo Slitter-5663 near-line slitting unit can be purchased separately to slit prints ranging from 101 to 305 millimetres.

How much waste is produced on startup?

The Lamimaster 34 HSIN requires about 25 metres of material to thread the machine before starting operation.
